Air India at Crossroads Ahead of Crash Investigation Report
Air India is currently at a pivotal point due to the pending publication of the final report by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau on the tragic crash that occurred in June 2025 involving Air India Flight AI-171. Air India is presently struggling with an annual loss of $2.4 billion, the early exit of CEO Campbell Wilson, and many cases of safety and operational lapses. While the company made efforts in the privatization process through the Tata Group in 2022, its revival has been stymied due to internal issues, together with high fuel prices, devaluation of the Indian rupee, and delivery problems of their aircraft.
